Stanford’s electrical system is key to maintaining University operations, including research labs, classrooms, and housing. However, in a recent study of the electrical system, approximately 60% of the system was found to be outdated and no longer reliable.

Electrical Reliability Improvements

The Electrical Reliability Improvements (ERI) Project will convert the University’s aging electrical distribution system to current standards. These upgrades will include improvements to critical electrical infrastructure and will be implemented in phases across campus from 2024 to 2032.
